Attorney

Raised in a small town in South Dakota, I moved to Minneapolis for college (University of Minnesota, Twin Cites) and subsequently law school (William Mitchell College of Law). After graduating from law school, I opened my own practice in Minnesota focusing on family law.

With over twenty years of solo practice in Minnesota, I have developed a client-focused approach and built strong relationships that help me understand each client's goals. Some lawyers see legal assistants as gatekeepers between attorney and client, but I prefer direct, accessible communication with clients through their preferred method—email, text, in person, phone, or Zoom—as I find it more effective for family law practice.

While practicing in Minnesota, I was very active in the legal community: from leadership roles (including President of the Hennepin County Bar Foundation-encompassing Minneapolis and the western suburbs) to mentoring students at law schools to presenting legal seminars, to coaching and judging high school students in mock trial to providing pro bono services to low-income people.

In mid-2024, I relocated to Bozeman and promptly made Bozeman my home. I purchased a home, became actively engaged in several community organizations, delivered a presentation at Pecha Kucha, and developed a strong network of local connections. From my initial arrival, Bozeman has provided a welcoming environment, and I regard it as an exceptional place to live and work.

In 2026, I earned my Montana license and saw a clear need for family law services in the community. With over twenty years of solo family law experience in Minnesota, I founded Blackmore Law Firm in 2025 to address this need.

In my free time, I hike local peaks with my dog Jupiter, explore hot springs, ski, and visit our community's farmer’s markets.
